Sandie graduated from the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance in 1982. Since then she has worked extensively as a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and lecturer. She initially trained in Pilates with Alan Herdman and  has been teaching Pilates for nearly 20 years. She  opened her own private Personal Pilates studio in Marylebone, London in 1998 allowing her to develop her own teaching style enjoying a broad client base which included royal family members, politicians, actors, athletes, dancers.  She also taught on CPD courses for Pilates Foundation and continued to pursue further studies.

She has attended workshops by Balanced Body, Polestar Pilates, The Basi Method, Body Control and Pilates Foundation studying with Ron Fletcher (Pilates Elder), Julian Littleford, Liz Koch, Elizabeth Larkam, Rael Isacowitz and James De Silva and many more.

She began to teach Gyrotonic exercise in 2004 and Gyrokinesis exercise in 2007 and her master trainer in both of these methods is Kelly Mckinnon( Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Authorised Master Trainer) of Corpus Studios, Belgium. In 2009, she worked with Leda Franklin and became an Authorised Jumping Stretch Board teacher. Sandie has been fortunate to study with Juliu Horvath( Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Methods Creator) and took the Gyrotonic Level 2 courses with him in 2005, 2007, 2009 . She also became a Gyrotonic pre trainer in 2012 . Her most recent update in this method was with Abel Horvath in 2016 studying “Gyrotonic into the Extremes”.

Sandie ran Personal Pilates in London for sixteen years before returning to her family base in the Falkirk District in 2014. After a short break, she rebranded her company name to Postural Persuasions and began teaching from her home based studio in Laurieston and offering classes in the local community.

She has since become an Approved Kinetic Chain Release Practitioner, CTR Therapist and can offer Advanced Postural Energetics. All of these methods were devised and developed by Scottish Physiotherapist, Hugh Gilbert.

As a committed professional, Sandie collaborates with leading osteopaths, physiotherapists and other health professionals taking an interest in nutrition and all aspects of health. She is a member of Equity, the Pilates Foundation, the Register of Exercise Professionals and is a complementary practitioner for the NHS
